Hidden Shock

I woke up on a dazed Saturday morning. Spring cleaning and what-not. Munching on breakfast with the tranquility of the universe. Typical, good-mood, Saturday.
Lethargic, exhausted, I sauntered room to room, cleaning up tid-bits of things scattered around and polishing all the wood.
I arrive at my bedroom's bedroom. The bright wooden bed and dresser and mirror set, the green carpet, the glass table, and the dark oak bookcase at the corner of the room.
I strode up to it, glancing at the usual things; my maternal grandmother's wedding picture and he late husband, Shakespeare's The Complete Works, Rohintin Mistry's A Fine Balance
A turn my head to the window at the side. It feels like it's been years since it had been cling-wrapped for winter.
I push aside the linen curtain and my eyes widened with horror. Two wasps–humungous wasps–were floating around between the window and the clingwrap.
Me: Dad!.....Dad? There's wasps in the window, between the clingwrap?
Dad: Hmm? Ah yes, I've forgotten about them
Me: O_o..erm excuse me?
Dad: Yes, they've been there since September. They're no harm, they're trapped in the window.
Me: Why don't you let them out.
Dad:

...Surprised they're not dead yet. But then again, I presume they were hibernating in the winter.
Me: O_o

I was so shocked. Many many times I've passed by, gallavanting in their bedroom, loitering around. And this?? Wasps?? Trapped in the window?? O_O
This just shows how this is probably a small fraction of hidden information laying about the house <_<.
